Kitesurf Beginnings, Competitions, Championships and GKA World Tour
Born and raised in Essaouira, Ismail’s connection to the ocean runs deep. The youngest of four brothers, all who surf and kitesurf as well, he grew up surrounded by windsurfers, surfers and the Moroccan Atlantic coast. Essaouira, Morocco is a world known kitesurf destination but at the time, Kitesurfing was still a relevantly new sport. Starting a bit later at age 17, he knew that kitesurfing would become more than just a hobby – it would become his life’s calling and he didn’t hold back. With determination and perseverance, Ismail honed his skills on the windswept beach of Essaouira, mastering the art of kitesurfing with unparalleled finesse. His dedication and talent soon caught the attention of the local kitesurfing community, and he began competing in regional competitions, showcasing his prowess on the water and earning respect among his peers.
In 2010 he won the Moroccan Kitesurf competition, Coupe de Trône. He continued competing including 2012 in Dakhla, Morocco, then again in 2014 placing 1st at French Championship in Kerhillio. Continuing on into 2015 for the Tarifa Strapless Kitesurfing Pro then touring with GKA World Tour around Europe, placing Top 10 in both 2017 & 2018. While he had to pause some years with bad injuries and life demands, he has now passing on his knowledge and experience to his kitesurf instructors, student clients and at volunteer local events. His kitesurf skills stand out from the rest, in his style of Kitesurfing the waves unlike most riders with more surf style than kiteboarding.

Ismail Adarzane’s hard work has paid off when he began competing in international competitions, representing Morocco on the world stage with pride and determination. With each competition, Ismail showcased his unparalleled talent and tenacity, earning recognition and admiration from kitesurfing enthusiasts around the globe. He went on to join both F-One’s and Manera’s team riders from around the world. Future of Mogasurf, Loving Surf and the Family business
But beyond his success as a competitive athlete, Ismail remains deeply rooted in his community, serving as a source of inspiration and mentorship for aspiring kitesurfers in Essaouira and beyond. He took on the family kite and surf school Mogasurf, to share his passion and knowledge with new beginners who want to learn at the best kitesurf school in Essaouira. His school has now collaborated to join with his brother’s surf school Loving Surf which share the shop and school located across from the beach on Mohammad Ave. in Essaouira, Morocco featuring the two floor Kite & Surf school, Healthy Cafe and Surf Shop which also features cool merch from both brands.
Through his example, he instills in others the values of perseverance, discipline, and passion, proving that with dedication and hard work, dreams can indeed become reality.
Today, Ismail Adarzane continues to drive towards his vision in life through perseverance in running a business just as he does as an athlete. From his humble beginnings in Essaouira to a champion kitesurfing professional on the global stage, his journey serves as a testament to the indomitable spirit of human will and self discipline. As he continues to push the boundaries of his sport and inspire others to follow their dreams, Ismail continues to inspire and mentor the generation of kitesurfers and kite instructors to provide a safe and fun environment in and out of the water..
