Kiteboarding Competition held in Dakhla for the 2nd Stop of the 2017 Tour

ISMAIL ADARZANE COMING ON TOP 5 IN GKA KITEBOARDING COMPETITION

From July 18th to 22nd was held the 2nd stop of the GKA Kiteboarding Competition of the 2017 Tour in Dakhla. The first event was held in Tarifa at the end of June. The best world kiteboarders gathered to show their best performance in surf waves and strapless freestyle tricks.

KITEBOARDING COMPETITIONMitu Monteiro, Airton Cozzolino, Matchu Lopes (2016 World Champion), Keahi de Aboitiz are just some of the big names in strapless kiteboarding. With such great names, the show was guaranteed, and the riders did deliver! We had some wonderful and heavy heats such as Airton Cozzolino vs Keahi de Aboitiz who was four-time Dakhla champion in a row. We have been led to a semi-finals with James Carew vs Mitu Monteiro and Paulino Pereira vs Keahi de Aboitiz. Then, the event went on with a solid finale with Mitu Monteiro vs Keahi de Aboitiz. Mitu Monteiro is the winner of this stop and is ranked 1st so far.

KITEBOARDING COMPETITIONThe Moroccan riders attended the event as well. Among them, Ismail Adarzane distinguished himself with 2 heats won against Matchu Lopes and James Carew. And then, against Sebastian Ribeiro in Round 3. These results led him to the quarter finals where the competition ended there for him after losing his heat against James Carew. Eventually, this result puts him in the 5th place in Dakhla and opens the way to the next stop of this 2017 Tour in Fuerteventura. This contest will be held from July 31st to August 5th, so stay tuned. We wish Ismail the best of luck for the rest of the competition!
